Updated - October 29, 2026 at 12:33 PM.Shares of Hindustan Unilever Limited are trading sharply higher on Thursday morning, rising ₹28.10 or 1.55 per cent to ₹1,843.90 by 12.12 PM, a day after the FMCG major posted its quarterly results. The stock, which hit a fresh 52-week low of ₹1,758.20 on Monday, October 27, opened at ₹1,812.80 and surged to a session high of ₹1,864.40. Trading volumes stood at 11.18 lakh shares worth ₹206 crore, with sell orders still outpacing buy orders, 56.50 per cent versus 43.50 per cent, indicating some caution persists in the market.
The stock has had a rough year. Year-to-date, Hindustan Unilever Limited is down 20.55 per cent, significantly underperforming the Nifty 50’s decline of 12.54 per cent. At the current price, the stock trades at a symbol P/E of 28.30, well below its 52-week high of ₹2,526 touched on October 28, 2025.
Brokerages largely maintained their constructive stance on the stock post results. Motilal Oswal reiterated a Buy rating with a target price of ₹2,150, noting the 7 per cent underlying volume growth as a positive but flagging Home Care margin pressure as a concern, with gross margin contracting 400 basis points year-on-year to 47.6 per cent. JM Financial also retained a Buy with a revised target of ₹2,225, cutting its target P/E to 40x from 45x, citing the broader sector de-rating. Elara Securities was more cautious, maintaining an Accumulate with a trimmed target of ₹2,100, down from ₹2,230, pointing to limited earnings visibility beyond the second half of FY27.
The results released on Wednesday showed HUL delivering consolidated revenue of ₹18,071 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, its highest underlying sales growth in 14 quarters at 15 per cent. EBITDA grew 8 per cent to ₹4,089 crore, with margins at 22.6 per cent. The board also declared an interim dividend of ₹19 per share, with a record date of November 12. Management maintained its medium-term EBITDA margin guidance of 22-24 per cent.
